Apple finally shares the tvOS 27 release notes with the list of new features

Today, Apple finally shared the release notes for tvOS 27, nearly two weeks after the software update was released. Many of the new features and changes listed were already known, but we are sharing the notes for completeness.

tvOS 27 was released on Monday, September 14, but Apple TV doesn’t show release notes for software updates in the Settings app. Instead, Apple periodically updates a support document that outlines what’s new in tvOS updates.

Here’s what’s new for Apple TV in tvOS 27, including video podcasts in the Podcasts app, AutoMix in the Apple Music app, the ability to set your preferred text size across supported apps, improved AirPlay performance, and more:

This update brings improvements to the Apple Music, Podcasts, and AirPlay experiences on tvOS. It also adds captions to more content, adds the ability to block individual apps, and provides bug fixes and security updates for your Apple TV 4K.

– Transcribed audio helps you follow content when standard subtitles or captions are not provided.

– Individual app controls in Settings let you prevent users from launching specific apps.

tvOS 27 is compatible with Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) and later.
