Foxconn-can-fill-the-shortcomings-of-iPhone-Duo.jpg

Giving hope to people with long pre-order delays, manufacturer Foxconn appears to be claiming that it can promptly meet the surge in demand for the iPhone Duo as well.

It sold out as soon as pre-orders opened and only a lucky few were able to purchase the iPhone Duo in store. But even if shipping times remain long, Bloomberg reports that Foxconn said it can meet any company’s demand.

“We have more than 240 sites in 24 countries around the world,” said Michael Chiang, chief executive of Foxconn parent company Hon Hai, “which allows us to promptly meet our customers’ demand whenever they need it.”

“So I’m pretty confident that we’ll be able to meet the demand,” he continued.

No guarantees

Importantly, Chiang did not specifically discuss the iPhone Duo or even Apple. He answered the question with a broad description of Foxconn’s capabilities, rather than committing to a timetable for the iPhone Duo.

However, Chiang is reportedly central to the relationship between Foxconn and Apple. It was he who took Apple Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan to visit the iPhone Duo production line in October 2026.

That tour was of Foxconn facilities in central China. According to the new report, this “iPhone City” is where the iPhone Duo is mainly produced.

It is not known whether other sites or other manufacturers are producing the iPhone Duo.

Apple has moved much of its manufacturing out of China. However, the iPhone Duo is a complex new product, and it typically takes time for other companies to receive orders to make a first-generation device.
