Apple today released HomeView Software 27.2, the software that runs on the upcoming HomeView device scheduled to launch on November 13th.
HomeView was announced in early October, but the first version of the software gives us a look at features like wallpapers and reveals some tidbits we didn’t previously know about.
Wallpapers
There are 20 default wallpapers to choose from on HomeView, with a range of colors. Users will likely also be able to set their own photo wallpaper. HomeView uses faces, but wallpapers may appear on the home screen.
Face modification
Guilherme Rambo shared an image of HomeView’s face editing interface, where users can choose the design they want to use on the HomeView lock screen.

Light and dark mode
As with other Apple devices, HomeView will have Light Mode and Dark Mode options, with the device able to automatically switch between modes based on the time of day.
Snoopy
HomeView has a lot of different Snoopy animations if you choose Snoopy’s face.

Pitcher
Unlike iOS, HomeView does not use SpringBoard. It has a new launcher called BreadBoard and the process for the Control Center UI is called CupBoard.

There is a hidden image of the HomeView 26 software in the update, which shows that Apple wanted to release HomeView sooner but had to wait for Siri AI. Apple also appears to have tested the interface on a sixth-generation iPad mini ahead of launch.

HomeView is priced at $299 and can be pre-ordered from Apple’s website. It will launch alongside the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K on November 13.
