Light year frontier is leaving Early Access. Developer FRAME BREAK has confirmed that version 1.0 of its open-world mech breeding adventure will launch globally on November 4, 2026, on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S via the Xbox Store.
Final region and conclusion of the story
THE Light year frontier Update 1.0 brings players to the Sandswept Highlands, the final region of the game, full of plants, resources, and secrets to discover tied to the history of those who came before. A series of end-game missions caps off the main story, giving players a fitting conclusion to their journey. FRAME BREAK began development in 2020 and launched into Early Access on March 19, 2024. Since then, the studio has delivered six major content updates, most recently the March Automation update, which added the Automator, new progression milestones, building improvements, and a jetpack.
Mech and tool upgrades
In Light year frontier, Mech upgrades will be simplified. Each tool, body part, and transformation mode now has a dedicated slot with a preset upgrade path, so players no longer rearrange each level, and mod chips carry over when a tool levels up. A fully upgraded mech unlocks continuous flight through the skyblazer transformation mode, powerful hover thrusters, and a rapid-fire seeding mod chip.
The abilities of existing tools are also improved. From Mc. 2, the peashooter’s attachment targets more mounds faster, and the spikesaw’s sweep now swings back and forth continuously instead of resetting between swings. From Mc. 4, Seed Stacking allows the Seed Shooter to plant more than one seed in the same mound, while new weak points on destructible objects reward precise hits from the spike saw with extra damage.
Changes in agriculture and animals
Farm animals no longer run away when unhappy, and lost animals now find themselves in a shelter after a day. Petting a happy animal immediately causes its resource to be lost once per day, animals are displayed as markers on the map, and the demands required to reach the Contented and Happy state have been reduced. The update also adds new crops, including Cloudbud, Coilvine, Papristalk, and Quartznip.
