Apple’s iPhone
Announced on September 12, 2017, the iPhone X used its TrueDepth camera to introduce Face ID, which replaced Touch ID on the device. Powered by the A11 Bionic chip, it was also Apple’s first iPhone starting at $999. Apple classified the device as vintage in 2024. Recently, Touch ID made an unlikely return to iPhones with the iPhone Duo. Apple is expected to introduce a redesigned 20th anniversary iPhone in late 2027.
