CNET built a “Fold-a-Phone” machine that continued to fold and unfold iPhone Duo for over a week to test its durability, while live streaming every day. Here’s how it’s going.
CNET the machine folds and unfolds iPhone Duo 24/7 with daily live streaming
How durable are the iPhone Duo’s hinge and foldable display? Many early revisions attempted to answer this question, even in some cases building machines that constantly folded and unfolded the device.
But perhaps the best test is still underway.
CNET has been building a custom “Fold-a-Phone” machine that folds and unfolds the iPhone Duo 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for more than a week now.
The trial is being live streamed here on YouTube weekdays from 1-5pm ET.
When the livestream ended yesterday, iPhone Duo had reached just over 260,000 times.
So far, the zipper and fold seem to be holding up very well. But CNET it says it will continue testing every day until at least November 20 to see if anything might change over time.
