Apple-hires-Meta-VP-to-serve-as-head-of-global.jpg

Apple’s legal team has been reshuffled, with Meta vice president Scott Tucker becoming vice president of global litigation and financial services at the iPhone maker.

Apple has already made a number of changes to its leadership in 2026, partly due to the introduction of John Ternus as CEO. However, another change occurred in October which affected the legal aspect.

On Friday, Bloomberg reported that Apple had secured the talent of an executive from Meta. Scott Tucker will become Apple’s vice president of global litigation and financial services, according to people familiar with the change.

A new role at Apple, Tucker will be tasked with overseeing commercial and patent litigation, as well as financial legal matters. The move reunites Tucker with senior vice president and general counsel Jennifer Newstead, who was previously Meta’s chief legal officer, and officially assumed her role at Apple in March.

Prior to Meta, Tucker also has experience at Morgan Stanley in a senior legal role. This gives him the experience needed to manage the financial services aspect of his new role.

As part of the move, Apple’s vice president of commercial and competition litigation, Heather Grenier, will report to Tucker rather than Newstead.

At the same time, Kyle Andeer, a senior member of the legal department and vice president handling regulatory and product legal matters, will receive a broader mandate. His role will now include oversight of international legal matters, including functions such as online children’s safety, law enforcement and cybersecurity.
