The Odin Portal 3 is Ayn’s latest handheld, arriving as a successor to the Odin Portal 2 and a larger variant of the Odin 3. Already available for pre-order and expected to ship this month, Ayn has made a clarification on a specific key to the handheld.
According to a post on her Discord channel, Ayn claims that the Odin Portal 3’s charging speed stated at launch is incorrect. It was initially revealed that the portable device, which has a battery capacity of 9,000 mAh, charges at 60W, just like the Odin 3. However, Ayn claims that the maximum charging speed for the Odin Portal 3 is actually 45W, and that’s what will be provided in the final device. First of all, a discrepancy in the internal documentation is cited as the reason for the error.
While 45W isn’t slow, 60W is certainly faster and that’s what most, if not all, owners would prefer, considering the Odin 3 Portal has a larger battery capacity than the Odin 3. On the bright side, 45W is faster than the 27W of the Odin 2 Portal (available on Amazon for $359). Thankfully, Ayn didn’t reveal any other changes to the rest of the specs.
The Odin Portal 3 has a 7-inch 120Hz Full HD OLED display, a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q8 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 15 and has Hall Effect sticks, dual rear buttons, a cooling fan, RGB lights, and a microSD card slot. It also features an audio jack, a USB-C port with DisplayPort support (4K at 60 fps), Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.
Pricing starts at $399 for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and goes up to $669 for the 16GB RAM with 1TB of storage version.
