Google Maps has added Gemini to CarPlay. Here’s how you can access it.
Starting Wednesday, Google Maps users will be able to access Gemini within CarPlay. This allows drivers and passengers to ask Gemini questions using natural language.
For example, a driver may ask what the weather will be like at his destination when he arrives. They can also ask questions in stages, such as where to stop for sightseeing and where to eat or get gas along the way.
To use it with CarPlay, users simply tap the Gemini icon in Google Maps on the infotainment system display.
This is the first time Google has made a voice assistant available within its CarPlay app. AS 9to5Google Note, Google Assistant was only available when browsing directly from a user’s phone.
Currently, the feature is limited to users in the United States. Google plans to roll out the feature globally.
