ⓘTimex
Historically, Timex hasn’t been the go-to brand for serious diving credentials. But that sentiment changed in a big way when the Waterbury watchmaker introduced the Deepwater line in 2024, offering a classic dive aesthetic and a robust feature set at very accessible prices.
After introducing three Deepwater Arctic models with an unmistakable Omega-inspired aesthetic earlier this year, Timex is back with an updated version that puts a new twist on the dégradé dial formula.
The new Deepwater Arctic 200 models swap the stainless steel bracelets of their predecessors for HNBR rubber straps and, more importantly, get two striking new dégradé dials. Timex offers two colors. The first is the blue version, which starts with a rich, saturated blue in the center and gradually darkens towards the edges, playing well with the matching blue ceramic bezel and strap.
Then there’s the smoked version, which appears to fade from a lighter charcoal gray center to an almost black perimeter that blends seamlessly with the black bezel.
The new models retain the same 40.5mm stainless steel case as the previous model, along with a substantial crown guard that reinforces the tool watch’s credentials. The unidirectional rotating bezel features a ceramic insert with luminescent pip, while an anti-reflective-coated sapphire crystal protects the dial. Other notable highlights include a cut-off hour hand and an arrow-tipped seconds hand with red accents.
The new models continue to offer 200 meters of water resistance, supported by a screw-down crown and screw-down caseback. Timex says the hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) straps are designed to resist water, heat, corrosion and UV exposure, while quick-release spring bars make for easy replacement.
Inside, there’s a quartz movement, which helps Timex keep the price remarkably affordable given the sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel.
Prices and availability
The new Deepwater Arctic 200 watches are now available in the US, EU and UK, with prices starting at $259 / £215 / €249 for the blue model. The black/grey model is priced slightly higher at $269 / £225 / €259. Both watches are also available in India for ₹24,995 and ₹25,995 directly from the Timex website.
