The Bahrain Grand Prix will be streamed for free on Apple TV this weekend, without a subscription. Funnily enough, the location of the Bahrain Grand Prix is actually in Sepang, Malaysia.
Typically, F1 on Apple TV requires a paid subscription. But this weekend everyone can tune in for free. You can catch up on qualifying in preparation to stream the race live tonight, which kicks off at 3:00 Eastern time.
All you have to watch is get the Apple TV app on a compatible device, be in the US, and stay up late enough to watch live.
Coverage begins at 1:50 PM Eastern time, with the race scheduled to begin at 3:00 AM Eastern time. Of course, you can watch it later on demand, if you choose to go to bed at a reasonable hour.
You can get the Apple TV app on Apple devices, Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and more. You can also watch in a web browser at tv.apple.com.
With qualifying taking place today, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took pole position for the first time this season, with Lewis Hamilton in second place and championship leader Kim Antonelli in third. It’s Red Bull’s best chance of winning a race so far this year.
You may be wondering why the Bahrain Grand Prix is hosted in Malaysia. In a normal year, the Bahrain GP would have taken place much earlier in the season. But due to the ongoing war with Iran, the race was canceled and Bahrain organizers instead decided to sponsor a race in another part of the world.
Despite no longer being part of the official F1 calendar, Sepang is a fan-favourite circuit and should provide exciting on-track action.
Again, use the Apple TV app to tune in for free, no subscription required. The race begins at 3 a.m. Eastern time, with television coverage starting at 1:50 a.m.
