IceWhale doesn’t do it alone either. The company has brought on numerous partners to support the event, including OpenClaw, PhotoPrism, AdGuard, Karakeep, Blinko and Emby. The campaign benefits the community not only through prizes, but more importantly through the exchange of knowledge with other self-hosting enthusiasts.
To actively participate, users can access the nr/minilab event thread via the dedicated campaign page, which leads to the corresponding Reddit page. There, participants can share their experiences, as well as their mistakes, successes, guides and, of course, what they’ve learned along the way. It doesn’t matter if you’re a long-time expert or just installed your first system – everyone’s experience is welcome.
Together with the moderators of the Reddit thread, the organizers will award various prizes among participating community members. According to IceWhale, five winners will be selected based on authenticity, usefulness, creativity and value to the community.
The first place winner will receive a ZimaBoard 2 1664, along with an AdGuard Ad Blocker Lifetime Family license, PhotoPrism Plus Lifetime, and one year of Emby Premiere. The second place winner essentially receives the same software package, but with a ZimaBoard 2 832 instead of the 1664 model. The third place winner will also receive the same apps, along with a ZimaBlade 7700. There are also additional smaller prizes for the first 100 comments, as well as numerous lucky giveaways.
