iPhone-Duo-dates-postponed-to-January.jpg

If you didn’t receive your iPhone Duo on Friday morning, you probably won’t see yours appear until early 2027. At least the situation isn’t getting any worse.

On Friday, Apple opened pre-orders for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable. Announced in September, the buzz following the event left no doubt that it would be an instant success.

And that certainly appears to be the case. The iPhone Duo sold out almost immediately, with dates slipping between late November and early December just moments after pre-orders opened.

As of Friday afternoon, the iPhone Duo dates have slipped to the end of January. This is true regardless of the size or color of the storage, suggesting that demand is equal across configurations or that supply numbers are low.

iPhone Duo delivery dates have been pushed back to January

Apple never states how many devices it has ready for sale on day one, but shipping dates normally provide a clue as to whether a model is a success.

Carriers had supplies until later in the process. AT&T and Verizon had same-week deliveries until around noon. Best Buy has two-week shipping on most models until 2 PM ET on October 16.

Supply from carriers, however, seems to fluctuate and they tend to overpromise and underdeliver. Apple is more conservative and, in most cases, underpromises and ships early

For those who want to try their luck in physical stores, the iPhone Duo will be available for in-store purchase on October 23. You should expect an increase in crowd sizes and lines, and going to an Apple Store doesn’t mean you’ll walk away with an iPhone Duo either.
