Last month, UGREEN introduced a new 25W 10000mAh MagSafe Qi2.2 battery for iPhone. There have been many, but this one has an interesting new twist: liquid cooling.
On the back of the battery there is a window that shows the liquid inside the battery moving around inside it. This should help keep it a little cooler than most MagSafe battery banks.
UGREEN says it will be about 18 degrees cooler than usual, and while that’s probably true, it’s worth nothing that isn’t still a Cold battery bank, it’s just cooler than usual. It will still be warm in your hand.
At the bottom of the battery bank, UGREEN integrates a USB-C cable for charging your phone or any other USB-C device that you can’t (or prefer not to) charge wirelessly. I found this a little helpful at times, as wireless charging is obviously never as energy efficient as wired charging.
I’ll admit, the battery is a little thick and the lack of a kickstand is a bit annoying at this price, especially when so many others offer one. That said, if heat is a problem for you with MagSafe battery banks, this will definitely solve it for you.
On the side it offers a small display to show the battery percentage and charging speed.
One last thing to note: If you’re buying an iPhone Duo, this will protrude from the bottom of the phone, based on the size of the case I tested it with. This is true, though, for most MagSafe accessories on the iPhone Duo.
The UGREEN MagFlow battery costs $149, which is pretty expensive for a MagSafe battery of any kind. That said, UGREEN currently has it on sale for $95 on Amazon, making it much more appealing if you’re looking for a portable MagSafe battery that doesn’t get as hot as the competition.
