They’re making changes to Apple Cash’s terms and conditions, with Green Dot Bank requiring users to identify themselves to top up balances starting November 9th.

Apple Cash users are starting to receive emails from Apple about some changes being made to the service. The changes were pushed by Green Dot Bank, Apple Cash’s financial partner, with the email stating the three biggest changes to the fine print.

The first change is that, starting November 9, Green Dot Bank will begin requiring users to verify their identity if they want to top up their Apple Cash balance. Users can check by going to Settings, then Wallet & Apple Pay, then Apple Cash and following the instructions.

Non-verifying users will not be allowed to send or receive money through Apple Cash, but will still be able to spend or transfer existing funds to another bank account.

Green Dot Bank has also updated the arbitration section of the Terms and Conditions for Apple Cash. Apple writes that it encourages users to review the changes that affect their rights and the dispute resolution process.

The third point of the changes highlighted by Apple states that Green Dot Bank can enable “Externally Initiated Funding Transactions.” This means users will be able to transfer funds directly to their Apple Cash card from a bank or merchant.

Currently, external transfers to top up your Apple Card balance rely on a debit or prepaid card.
