Not every gadget needs a touchscreen, companion app, or artificial intelligence. Lexon’s Minut alarm clock takes a rather different approach, offering a simple digital clock small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Already available internationally, the French-designed Minut is now headed to Japan through distributor Kanjitsu Denki, with sales starting November 6, 2026.
Measuring just 6.5 × 4.5 × 2.5 cm (2.56 × 1.77 × 0.98 inches) and weighing 50 grams, the clock is designed for bedside tables, crowded desks, and travel bags. Its aluminum and ABS housing surrounds a black VA LCD display, with touch-sensitive controls for activating the backlight and snooze function.
The most practical feature is the declared battery life. According to Lexon, the Minut can run for up to six months between charges, with a full charge taking around three hours via USB-C. The actual duration may depend on how often the display lighting and alarm are used.
Japanese buyers will be able to choose between black, gunmetal, gold and light pink at launch, followed by light blue and dark red in December. The expected retail price is ¥6,980 (about $45), while the watch is also available internationally for about $40.
It won’t respond to texts, monitor your sleep, or offer life advice. For something designed to wake you up, this might be a feature rather than a limitation.
