Nvidia currently has a near-monopoly on powerful laptop graphics cards, as AMD simply offers no comparable alternatives. The launch of the new generation of graphics cards was originally scheduled for early 2026. However, the lack of competition and the sharp increase in memory prices have so far prevented this from happening and there is no information yet on a possible launch date.

Instead, Nvidia is now introducing the RTX Spark N1X, which combines an ARM processor with a latest-generation Blackwell GPU. While this chip isn’t primarily intended for gaming devices, its performance is more or less on par with a GeForce RTX 5070/5060. Thanks to technologies such as DLSS 5 and multi-frame generation, even current games can run smoothly at high detail settings without any problems.

The big question now is what we can expect from Nvidia in the mobile segment in the future. Considering the market situation described above and the performance improvements provided by AI-based software solutions, we can certainly imagine Nvidia taking its time with the next generation of GPUs. There may even no longer be stand-alone graphics chips for laptops. Nvidia should have no problem equipping the second generation RTX Spark chip with the next generation of graphics hardware (RTX 6000). Gaming laptop manufacturers would therefore effectively be forced to purchase the complete processor and graphics package directly from Nvidia (provided there are no alternatives).

The market is already under pressure and this development would certainly not help consumers, as it would leave them with even fewer choices. Further technical information on the new RTX Spark N1X can be found in our in-depth review.
